On May 30th, Galeria Podbrzezie in Kraków opened Common Ground, an exhibition exploring contemporary German photography through the lens of the photobook. The works on display situated themselves within a broader dialogue between Germany and Poland, reflecting how photography in both countries developed within interconnected European artistic, political, and social contexts. At its core, Common Ground argued that to share an understanding of each other and our material reality, we must engage with questions of identity, memory, landscape, and transformation.
